ASCP dinette froom 1922

For forever I have wanted to refinish a dinette set. The set I found was from 1922. It had only 4 chairs with cane backs. It had two leaves.

I have a family of 5 and we often have 1-2 extra guests for dinner. I wanted this table to go in my semi-formal space. I didn't want to have to serve dinner in the formal dining room for fewer than 3 guest entertaining. I decided to get two benches to place on the side of the table where seating was required.
BEFORE
AFTER

I may get two heads of table anchor chairs. So far I have not found much that I would be able to place as is or refinish like the rest.
MAYBE TWO OF THESE TO ANCHOR?

OR MAYBE THESE WITH PAINTED LEGS??

The set smelled like 90 years of smoking. So for that I washed her in vinegar 4 times. ALSO try this tip {LINK} .

I then painted with ASCP in old white two solid coats.
ASCP Old White

ASCP Arles

ASCP French Linen

I then washed over that with arles and old white and water. 1 part arles to 6 parts old white to 4 parts water. Then over it again with equal parts water and old white. Then I ran over specific areas with french linen or french linen, water, old white washes.

then I distressed like a mad woman. I then distressed the top all over to expose the original pattern.

DROP CLOTH AS FABRIC

I re-upholstered in drop cloth fabric and basically rebuilt the seats with new foam, cardboard, duct tape, spray adhesive and deep tenacity for an overall seat disintegration problem. I did not seal or wax anything but the table top.

I did 2 coats of clear satin poly (rub-on). I regret that I didn't soft wax. I like that subtle distressing is taking place but worry about stains.
